In Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) Spring is the Wood Element. As Winter turns to Spring, there is a sense of renewal and new, vibrant life. Spring is a time for moving forward after the quiet reflection of Winter. The energy of the season is like the sap rising and moving forward; Spring is the season for new beginnings and personal growth.
In this ChiBall Workshop we will work with a Spring focus: gentle, flowing movement to slowly awaken energy after the hibernation of Winter. We will practice a calm relaxed approach which supports the Wood element and reduces negative emotions. A ‘ChiBall’ is used throughout as a point of focus, to aid movement, and to massage away muscular tension.
Tai Chi-Qi Gong To slowly awaken and stimulate Chi and feel grounded; ChiBall Dance To help release frustration, impatience and anger; Yoga Postures to promote strength, balance and flexibility; Pilates Movement to develop a sense of connection to centre; ChiBall Release Simple movement to release tension and promote options for movement; Breathing, Stillness and Relaxation A calm state supports Wood and reduces negativity.
